alex savidge has been talking to witnesses. alex, what are they telling you? >> reporter: more shots were fired outside the club along the street in what police describe to me as kind of a rolling gun battle involving at least two people. you can see this morning crime scene technicians are still processing this parking lot on brandon street for evidence. a little while ago we got a look inside the club where the shooting began. it's called 330 rich. it's on rich street. the place was packed. 1:30 this morning witnesses tell me two men got into some kind of an argument. one of them pulled out a gun and opened fire, firing just one shot. people scrambled for cover inside. the gunfight then spilled outside of the venue. three people in the end were hit by gunfire. one of them transported in critical condition and the other two have nonlife- threatening injuries, according to police. one club gore told me she is certainly grateful she wasn't hit. >> terrified. i have a child to go home to. there was a girl behind me asking me what to do. i'm like, i have no idea.

alex savidge is live at bayshore avenue near candlestick park, where he has just learned the officer who opened fire belongs to. alex? >> reporter: well, yeah. the investigation out here has wrapped up. this is no longer a crime scene. so we're a little closer now to the scene of this deadly police shooting from overnight. it happened right here in the parking lot of of the bayside cafe on hester, right at bayshore. this is where a pursuit ended with gunfire we were just told by investigators of san francisco police that this is in fact a daly city police officer who fired on a man, killing him. san francisco police were also on scene and they are in charge of the investigation, though. this chase was initiated by daly city police around 12:30 in the morning. officers were trying to make a felony stop on a stolen car that had two men inside. but the car sped off and officers went on a pursuit. eventually the driver and passenger inside the car bailed out in san francisco. that's when police, a daly city officer, shot one of the men several times, killing him. police at this point are
